Shereen Asakhe Manya, known in media as Asakhe, is a born again Christian and a lover of God. She works at Woolworths as a manager of the Food Department, for two years now. Previously, she worked at the Boardwalk Hotel, as a restaurant manager for six years. She is fully qualified in hospitality management.
Besides her professional life, she is the visionary of a group called Women of Substance, a group of women from all over Gqerberha and from different churches. They pray together, share life and their potentials together.
Women Of Substance is a God-given vision with the aim of uniting women to stand together to fulfill God's promises about marriage and life in general. This group started in 2018 and the Lord has been faithful to them, they are still together and loving one another, complementing one another, praying for one another, and carrying each other's burden.
They recently officially launched it at the Boardwalk Hotel on the 20th of March. The response of their communities has been very good and the people of Gqerberha love it, saying they want to be a part of this great blessing, because it is rare to find such a thing. They are all about empowering fellow women to do life well, giving them a voice, lifting them up and helping them.
They do camps together, all night prayers, charitable acts together, and help their communities in the way they can.
Nasa Light was founded in the year 2020. It is an electrical company that is set out to provide it’s respectable clients with efficient and professional services. The company is based in Gqerberha, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Nasa Light was founded by two professional young women, Ms Nandipha Jawula and Ms Asanda Mfecane, who saw a gap to bring about change in a male dominated field of electrical engineering.
The name is derived from both the founders’ names Na(Nandipha) and Sa(Asanda). The fact that they came up with such a name by combining these four letters of their names to form one name, only shows their unity as women; to come together and work hand in hand to put women on the map in a field or industry that is vastly Male-Energy dominated.
They founded the company (Nasa Light) due to the lack or vast scarcity of women in the field being in leading positions. This is a vital example to the young girls/ women out in the perishing, under-developed communities, that having a sustainable profession does not always come in the form of a business suit and a tie, dirty overalls of hard-working plumbers, electricians etc. can be another way, another alternative of putting food on the table and securing a lucrative means of an income and livelihood for self and family members.
They saw the scarcity of employment particularly in the Eastern Cape so they were more than compelled to use that as zeal and exhortation to instill and effect radical change in their lives and ultimately in the lives of others via their highly recommended services.
They pride themselves in always striving to provide their customers with quality workmanship and ensures to leaving their customers satisfied with the services they render.

Zepplin Adams is an entrepreneur, a visionary and a sound engineer, with more than 10 years of experience in operating sound equipment. He has worked alongside numerous industry professionals and music giants at various events, venues, and locations from church auditoriums, to both live indoor and outdoor venues and concerts across the Eastern Cape.
He is the founder of newly established sound and production company, Let Zepplin, which prides itself in quality equipment and service for private, public and corporate gigs.

He says many youth are not aware of all the supporting elements, and behind the scenes work which makes up a production – sound being one of those elements. He wants to change the narrative for those, who may have always felt more technically inclined. And if so, sound might be that special place for them just as has been for him.
“I have always been intentional. I’ve always found purpose in my detours and how it may take me closer to where I want to be” these are Zepplin’s words as he reflects on his journey and career. "It has not been an easy path, but a lesson-filled one indeed and I’m only beginning."
He is excited about his first project as he looks forward to growing his brand and skill-set, whilst ploughing back into others what has been sown into him
iThetha is a newly formed company within the ICT sector and they offer language learning services. They are a language learning app which strives to bridge the gap between language barriers in South Africa by making use of English and the African languages with the first language being the IsiXhosa language at the moment and hopefully making a change in the education sector.
How the iThetha app came about is that it is a new app launched through the Enactus MTN ICT challenge which requires participants to find a technological solution to issues which are faced in either the agriculture, health or education sector making use of design thinking methodology. They chose to focus on the education sector and came up with a language learning application concept where they were then shortlisted after two stages of the competition.
Following submission for the third phase of the competition they made it into the programme and are currently in the stage of developing the language learning application as a part of the prototype phase.
They offer service plans and they are the Basic Language Plan which is free, and the Premium Language Plan which will be paid for.
Lee Anne decided to leave the corporate world when her husband needed help after he started his own business 17 years ago.
He started his company doing high pressure cleaning and waterproofing. The company grew quite quickly and then they started painting, doing ceiling installations and eventually became building contractor's.
They were involved with building and painting RDP houses and this kept them very busy especially with most of the work being out of town.
There was a good market to supply paint for RDP housing and they worked closely with a paint company and became suppliers of paint for low cost housing.
Unfortunately they lost the contract after a few years so they are not involved with low cost housing anymore but in the private sector.
Due to a neck injury, her husband has had to leave doing physical Labour and is involved with managing the business. They then decided to change the name of the business which is now Trifecta Agencies.
Owning your own business is always a rollercoaster ride, many ups and downs but they're still standing strong and loving it.

Amina Grobbelaar was born and schooled in Kimberley. Then proceeded to study at the University of the Free State where she completed a B.Mus degree in 2000. She soon realized that her interests were not in music as a career and started working in different industries over the years, including a 2 year stint as an au pair in Saudi Arabia.
In 2010 Amina started working as an admin at a debt review company in Bloemfontein and immediately realized this was what she wanted to do. She then went out on her own in 2011 and officially registered Stress-Less Debt Counsellors in 2012.
There is no better feeling knowing someone is sleeping easier at night because he/she no longer has to stress about the debt, creditors phoning day and night or even having to face the sheriff repossessing assets.
Over the years Amina has seen the need to include other services in her company to provide even better care for her clients. Currently she has compliant brokers for life cover, credit life, funeral policies as well as cover in case of retrenchment and or becoming medically unfit. She also has some very capable attorneys to assist if matters become more technical in nature.
Recently Amina has joined hands with a company to assist consumers with asset finance, business rescue and savings options in order for consumers to have a healthy financial life. What makes her services unique is that every consumer's case is handled by herself personally and with utmost confidentiality. So in short what does a debt counsellor do: The overall objectives of a debt counsellor are to assess the full extent of the debt situation, assess the assets that need to be taken into account and provide a debt remedy that works for each individual. Amina's consultations are free and can be done in person, by email or phone.
